For the past 16+years Daisy has worked as a clinical Social Worker providing therapy to a wide variety of people from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational and other diversified backgrounds. Personal issues or stressful life events can come up at any point in a person's lifetime. It can become overwhelming to manage these thoughts, feelings or situations; therefore, having support can bring clarity and provide opportunities for new solutions to emerge. Daisy provides her professional knowledge and input to support her clients to overcome barriers that have impacted their ability to reach and sustain life fulfillments. She builds on the therapeutic relationship by learning about your strengths, challenges and aspirations. Daisy’s therapeutic approach stems from a strength based and humanistic position based on the ideas that people are doing the best that they can, want to improve, and are capable of change. She believes by offering different perspectives, establishing goals to increase self-awareness and adapting positive behavioral patterns an individual can improve their functioning and quality of life. She incorporates a variety of interventions that include: cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, trauma-informed approaches, parent management training, and solution-focused therapies.
Brian is the owner of MM Consult CT. Brian is here to answer questions regarding the benefits of medical marijuana. He is also able to guide patients through the difficult process of navigating Connecticut’s Medical Marijuana program. This can include suggested dosing and delivery methods appropriate for the patients intended results. Brian was the Dispensary Manager at one of the busiest dispensaries in CT for nearly three (3) years. He is also a registered pharmacist and worked 16 years for one of the largest national retail pharmacy chains in MA, NV and CT.
Donna’s thirty plus year career as a Ct licensed clinical social worker has been dedicated to giving clinical support to children and adolescents, veterans, individuals with disabilities, the dying and bereaved, and those living with chronic illness. With a special interest and certification in oncology, Donna has extensive experience providing group and individual support to those facing and surviving cancer and their loved ones. Donna was recognized as a 2017 Woman Making a Difference in the Valley recipient. In line with Twin Peaks mission, Donna provides support to parents of LGBTQ+ children and youth.
Donna is a graduate of Fordham University and believes everyone deserves a skilled therapeutic ally to support them when life gets tough. Rhonie has worked in the field of mental health and addiction services for 25 years and has worked in multiple settings with individuals, families, couples and groups. Trained in cognitive behavioral techniques, family systems approach, motivational interviewing and trauma-focused treatment, with an emphasis on person-centered and strength-based interventions. Skilled in evidence=based practices and psycho-dynamic therapies, Rhonie is recovery oriented. A comprehensive psychosocial assessment guides the treatment planning process. Rhonie's objective is to provide a confidential, safe therapeutic environment for clients to establish trust and stability to work on their treatment goals.
Dawnmarie has been working with elders and families for more than sixteen years. Dawnmarie's areas of expertise include, but are not limited to interpersonal relationships, depression, anxiety and end of life issues. Dawnmarie is a medical social worker working across the life span with families struggling with issues around debilitating medical issues. Dawnmarie works together with individuals and families to discover the issues that are standing in the way of having deeper, more meaningful relationships. Dawnmarie holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University and currently maintains her Clinical Social Work licensure in the State of Connecticut.
Soffia received her MSW from Southern CT State University in 1990. and is actively licensed to practice clinical social work in the State of Connecticut. The eldest of thirteen, she has worked most of her life in the field of Human Services and, for the last 20 years, as a psychotherapist. Soffia has worked in a variety of settings, including home care (in and out-patient), schools and private office settings. She has extensive experience working with the elderly and those who are younger. who present with a variety of issues. This experience includes coping with medical and end-of-life issues, crisis, loss, trauma and adjustment issues and the emotional discomfort these places can create, including depression and anxiety. Soffia seeks to continually grow and learn effective ways to address the presenting emotional / psychic pain of those she serves.
Teila is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working in a variety of backgrounds and settings for nearly 10 years. Teila is a Graduate of the University of New Haven and has received her Masters of Social Work from Fordham University. Teila chooses to focus on promoting and encouraging empowerment, strength, resilience and growth. Teila hopes to be a part of a positive change. Teila currently maintains her clinical social work licensure in the State of Connecticut.
Michelle earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University. She has a wide range of experience in the school, hospital, and clinical settings. Utilizing a client-centered approach, she has provided individual and group psychotherapy services to socio-economically and culturally diverse populations diagnosed with a range of clinical conditions. As a certified yoga instructor through the Lotus Gardens Yoga School, Michelle believes in the implementation of mindful based stressed reduction techniques to help individuals. She believes that change happens when people are given the support they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their own potential to live satisfying lives.
Bernadette is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor and was raised in Fairfield, CT. She received her Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University. Additionally, Bernadette completed a Pastoral Counseling program at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Bernadette has a wide range of experience treating mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, grief, relational problems, problem sexual behaviors, and substance abuse, and has worked in inpatient mental health facilities, partial hospitalization programs, community IOP and outpatient programs and schools. Bernadette endorses an integrative approach to psychotherapy and strongly believes in individualizing therapy to each client’s needs. Bernadette is a Professional Member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Jennifer obtained her MSW specializing in mental health and substance abuse from the University of Connecticut's School of Social Work. In addition she holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University.
Having worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains, NY for 9 years as well as Weill Cornell's Mobile Crisis Team, she has direct clinical experience working with adolescents and adults struggling with a variety of mental health issues including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and psychotic disorders. Her ability to connect and comfort as well as her ability to tolerate and work with more acute issues such as suicide, psychosis, and trauma assist her in building strong therapeutic relationships with clients. In addition to her clinical work, Jennifer has built strong relationships with local and national treatment programs over the past 6 years and can assist families and individuals in navigating mental health resources.
Jennifer's focus is person centered but follows an attachment psychodynamic approach that is strength based and incorporates aspects of DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing. In addition she takes an integrative holistic view to her clients that takes into account the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Jennifer is working on certifications in complex trauma, clinical neuroscience and sensorimotor psychotherapy. She is licensed in both New York and Connecticut.
Danielle earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Connecticut State University. She has previous experience in group homes, intensive out-patient and residential settings. Danielle also has experience helping adolescents and adults cope with their struggles with mental health, substance abuse, trauma and emotional distress. She believes in an integrative approach and meeting each client’s needs.
Diana is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of experience. She provides mental health care for our Spanish or English speaking clients. Using a combination of traditional and holistic approaches, she will work with you to create a plan where you can become centered to achieve holistic harmony. As human beings, it is important that we find balance in our lives, especially spiritually, emotionally, and mentally; remembering that we are not just physical beings. The answers to finding balance in many situations lay within your core as an individual. This approach allows Diana to deliver and develop a plan of care with you that can best meet your needs as a whole person. Diana earned a Bachelor's in Nursing from Fairfield University and a Master's in Nursing from Quinnipiac University. She holds an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach Certificate, is Reiki II certified and is completing the CT Acupuncture Certification Program. She looks forward to offering auricular and full body acupuncture in April 2020.
Teresa is Board Certified in Family Practice and has been in practice for over 20 years. As a family practitioner, Teresa is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of a diverse number of medical conditions.
Due to the exceptional safety profile of medical cannabis and low-risk of abuse or dependency, she strongly believes in its naturally therapeutic effects in treating (or at least alleviating) a broad range of ailments and illnesses. Teresa will take the time to understand your concerns and answer all your questions regarding the cannabis program. She is a member of the American Cannabis Nurses Association and the Association of Cannabis Specialists.
Courtney is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and Gerontological Specialist with 17 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions. She provides mental health care for adolescents to older adults with treatment plans inclusive of prescription medication and mind-body therapies such as acupuncture, mindfulness-based stress reduction, music therapy, and aromatherapy. Courtney earned her BA from Smith College, a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Quinnipiac University. She is Reiki II certified and is completing the CT Acupuncture Certification Program. She looks forward to offering auricular and full body acupuncture in April 2020. Courtney is the owner of Holistic Healing Partners, LLC, a group of nurse practitioners who use a whole-person approach to care in partnership with you and your family. Courtney most recently worked with older adults and caregivers as a primary care provider and memory care expert at UConn Health Center on Aging. She currently also works in medical aesthetics and clinical research.
Eliran completed his Masters of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from Albertus Magnus College. He spent his clinical internships at VinFen in Hartford, a site for individuals with Intellectual or Physical Disabilities co-occurring with Personality Disorders. He also worked with veterans at the West Haven Veterans Hospital. Throughout his time there he was molded into a compassionate, social advocate for veteran’s rights and art therapy. Eliran specializes in Substance Use and Complex Trauma and comes with 2 years of intensive experience in residential, IOP and PHP Treatment. Previously, Eliran was in the MAATC program where he was a group facilitator for individuals who were perpetrators of Domestic Abuse/Intimate Partner Violence in an alternative to incarceration program.
Hannah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and obtained her MSW specializing in Children and Families from Southern Connecticut State University in 2017. Hannah holds both a bachelor’s and master’s in social work from Southern Connecticut State University. Hannah has worked in community mental health around New Haven CT for over 6+ years, primarily with individuals ages 18+. One of her specialties is individuals who have co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders. She has also been trained in motivational interviewing, harm reduction and group therapy. Hannah prefers a holistic approach and her ability to listen calmly as well as empathize with people has helped her build trusting therapeutic relationships with her clients.
Rich is a graduate of Widener University with a doctorate in clinical psychology and two certificates specializing in biofeedback. He takes a truly holistic approach with Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and cutting-edge biofeedback training, in addition to both eastern and western complimentary practices. Rich leverages the mind-body connection, analyzing and addressing life's challenges from both a mental and physical perspective, leaving no stone unturned. The core of his approach lies in each patient's unique and personal set of values, as these are the foundation of both our drives and discomforts throughout life.
Julie began her career path as an elementary school teacher keeping third grade children excited to learn new skills to help them grow and succeed. After teaching, her career blossomed in many directions. She has worked as an addictions counselor and prevention educator at an outpatient treatment facility in our area. Through this experience, she was asked to compile a 32-week self-esteem program to be used in schools as a drug prevention curriculum. where she taught all 3rd and 5th grade classes in the Lower Naugatuck Valley and earned Prevention Specialist status. Julie also worked as Director of the Youth Service Bureau for the City of Shelton for over 18 years. In addition, she helped make positive changes in the juvenile justice system while serving on the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee for the State of CT. She has been recognized by TEAM, Parent Child Resource Center and the State of CT for giving back to our community. Julie currently works as a Parent Educator for Parent Child Resource Center. Using Circle of Security or Triple P, she teaches parents new skills to help them succeed and enjoy their children. She also developed self-esteem curriculum for women and holds self-esteem groups for women at Twin Peaks Counseling.
